New York Branches

Bank Hapoalim New York Branches is part of Israel’s Bank Hapoalim B.M.

As the only Israeli-owned bank in the U.S. operating as branches rather than a subsidiary, we are backed by the considerable resources of Bank Hapoalim in Israel and are accorded the same high “A-” credit rating.

Our three New York City Branches are:

  1. The New York Branch (Member FDIC) is a full-service branch for business and private banking clients in the United States and worldwide. All deposits are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. This branch was licensed by the New York State Banking Department in 1974.
  2. The Americas Tower Branch offers a range of banking services and financial products to business and individual clients primarily located outside the United States. A minimum deposit of $100,000 is required to open an account. This branch does not serve consumer clients and deposits are not FDIC insured. It was licensed by the New York State Banking Department in 1974.
  3. The Plaza Branch is a limited service branch offering banking services and products to business clients located outside the United States. A minimum deposit of $100,000 is required to open an account at this branch and deposits are not FDIC insured. This branch was licensed by the New York State Banking Department in 1974.

Important Update on FDIC Insurance:
Starting December 31, 2010 the New York Branch will participate in the temporary FDIC insurance coverage for transaction accounts. All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012.

This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest.
It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOL T As").
